A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents.
Arrival to Marrakesh. Meet your professional English speaking guide and driver. Transfert to the hotel or riad.
In the evening be prepared to be picked up to go for a very nice evening tour at the famous square, Jama El Fna. Street performers, musicians and acrobats always perform there. You will have dinner in a restaurant nearby. After dinner head back home.
Today is the exploration of Marrakesh. Start by enjoying the beauty of Majorelle garden and its Berber museum of silver jewrlery. The garden was created by the French artist Jacques Majorelle on 1923. It’s now a property of Yves Saint Laurent foundation. Continue by seeing the exterior of Koutoubia mosque, 1147.Continue to the kasbah quarter to enjoy the architecture of the 16th century neckropolis Saadian tombs. Then walk to the most beautiful palace in Morocco, Bahia. An exemplary specimen of privileged life in the 19th century. Finish the tour at the famous square. To see snake charmers. And explore the nearby souks.
Balance of the day on own.
Today is check-out. Before you leave Marrakesh you will go where you will participate in an amazing cooking class. You will be taught how to make at least one sort of salad, and a chicken ( or other ) tagine. Your lunch will be the same food you have made yourself.
After lunch head to the Gateway of Sahara.To Ouarzazate.. 3.5 hours drive. On the way you will enjoy the views of different colors of the mountains, and tens of Berber villages scattered here and there on the hills. You will the highest vehicular pass in Morocco, Tizi N Tichka. 2260 m.
Head straight to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Ouarzazate is the Hollywood of Africa,where tens of famous American movies were shot. Start by visiting the film studios, where you will have a guided tour of about 45 min. Then visit the kasbah of Taourirt. The private home of the Pasha Glaoui. The governor of the whole south of Morocco from 1909 till 1956. Continue to Tinghir, taking the road of one thousand kasbahs, and the valley of roses. Tinghir is famous for its Kasbah villages, oasis and the gorge of Todra. Enjoy a nice walk in the gorge between two 900-meter-high hills. High atlas mountains. Then continue to the Sahara of Merzouga. Stop at Erfoud. Meet your other driver with 4×4 to take you, off-road, to the camp. Glamping. Dinner, entertainment and overnight. Star gaze is something not miss.
And camel ride is included too.
After breakfast be ready for Sahara exploring. Your 4×4 will take you for a trip in the middle of nowhere. You will see old sahara villages scattered here and there in the desert. You will have tea at a nomads’ tent. You will stroll in a green oasis, palmgrove, in sahara. A picnic lunch is included. Then drive back home, where you can sandboard or ride an ATV ( single seater). At the sunset camel ride is also possible. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast the 4×4 will take you to Rissani, to meet your original van driver. Rissani is the native land of the kings of the current royal dynasty. You will visit the mausoleum of the its first king. Moulay Ali Shariff. 1631-1641.Then you go in a 17th century Ksar. A compound of tens of adobe houses surrounded with a clay wall. Continue to Erfoud,where you will visit a fossil treatment workshop. Millions of years ago the ocean was in what’s now sahara. There’re fossil quaries from which they take huge fossilised rocks and stones to the workshop. They also find there the old species which lived in the ocean then. Trilobites, Orthoceras, Cephalopdes, Jellyfish and others.
After that you continue your drive to the sahara town Skoura. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast leave for your destination today. Marrakesh. But before that you will visit kasbah Ameridil. One of the ancients in that palmgrove. Continue then to Ait Ben Haddou, to have a walk in the ancient village, classified as a Unesco World Heritage site. You will see the Colossium of the movie Gladiator, 1999.Now they’re busy preparing for Gladiator 2. In the afternoon continue to Marrakesh.
In the evening you will enjoy a nice Moroccan hammam, steam bath ( spa ). Exfoliation. Body scrub. And massage. Relax. And relax.
Departure. Your driver will take you to the airport, to meet the fast-track clerk for an easy check-in.
