Itinerary

Day 1Arrive to Casablanca

Arrive to Casablanca. Meet your professional English speaking guide and your driver. Transfer to Rabat. Overnight in a five-star hotel.

Day 2Depart for your city tour

Today after breakfast depart for your city tour. Rabat is the capital town of Morocco. The official residence of the king. The seat of the government and the house of the prime minister. It’s a 12th-century-town, built by Jacob the Victorious, 1184 – 1199.

Your guide will take you visit the Oudaya kasbah and its museum of Berber costume and jewelery. And enjoy a walk in the beautiful Andalucian garden. Then continue to near Hassan mosque, 12th century, famous for its square unfinished minaret. Visit the nearby Mohamed 5th mausoleum.

Continue to Tangiers for tow nights in a 5-star hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3Leave to explore this beautiful city

After breakfast you leave to explore this beautiful city. Go first to Cape Spartel, 30 min drive, situated on the north-western extremity of Africa. Enjoy the view of the meeting line of the Sea and the Ocean. Nearby is Hercules cave,in which that legendary hero rested after he had completed his 12 labors. Inside the cave you get to see, in the gap, the mirror-image of the African continent. Then drive back to Tangiers. This city is the second industrial center in Morocco. Car-making, textile and food industry are the main activities.

The Phinicians were there in the 1st century, the Romans in second, and then it was part of the big Islamic empire till the 17th century. The Portuguese were there for a short time, before they gave it, as dowry, to England on 1664. The king Moulay Ismail, the great king of the current royal dynasty, got it back on 1684. During the last century many famous American artists lived in Tangiers. Tennesee Williams, Paul Bowles, Barbara Hutton and Ernest Hemungway. To name but few.

Your guide will take you to explore the medina, souks and the kasbah. Stop to visit the American Legation, the first US property outside the United States. Go to soor lmaagazin, the wall of lazy people, and have a walk on the boulevard.

Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4Leave Tangiers for Fes

After breakfast leave Tangiers for Fes. Stop at the beautiful Blue town, Chefchaoun. Perched on the Rif mountain it has become one the most famous visited cities all over Morocco. It was built on mid 15th century by the Andalucian refugees led by Moulay Ali Ben Rached.

You will have guided tour in the blue souks and alleyways, meeting the locals with their special costumes. Stop at Outta Hmmam square and visit the Ethnological museum inside the 15th century kasbah. Continue to Fes for dinner and overnight.

Day 5As back as the 9th century

After breakfast go and let yourself be taken back in the distant past, as back as the 9th century. Fes medina is the biggest free-of-car-urban area in the world. More than nine thousand alleyways,on 260 hectars. You will go through the different souks, visit a 14th century high school, Bouanania Medersa, a wood museum, and see the exterior of the oldest university in the world, Alkaraouyine.

And as Fes was the 1st industrial city in the world in the 10th century you will be guided to where you can see some the old crafts. The rug weaving The leather tannery. The caftan and jellaba making. And, most importantly, you will go to see a ceramic factory, where you will eyewitness the whole procedure. From clay to a piece of art. You will also see some the fine Babs, gates, of the ancient city wall.
Fes walking tour is one of highlights of the whole trip.

The tour is over on the late afternoon.

Day 6One-day-trip to the Versailles of Morocco

After breakfast you will have a one-day-trip to the Versailles of Morocco, Meknes. The city which was very prosperous as a royal city under the leadership of Moulay Ismail, the 4th king of the current royal dynasty. You will see Bab Almansour and the huge granaries of the city. If its not a Friday you can visit the mausoleum of that king.

On the way to Meknes you stop at Volubilis, the biggest Roman center in Morocco. Built on the 2nd century and destroyed by the earthquake of Lisbon, 1755.You’ll have a one-and-half-hour guided tour, exploring the Roman mosaic, pillars, arches and the Basilic.

On the late afternoon drive back to the hotel. Dinner on own.

Day 7Head to Sahara

Are you prepared for a stunning experience?!

After breakfast leave Fes and head to Sahara. A long drive ( about 8 hrs ) but the sightseeing and the views are wonderful. The first stop is at Ifran, the Switzerland of Morocco. Small and very clean. Covered with snow in the Winter, and endowed with nice temperature in the Summer. Continue your drive along middle Atlas mountains. On the frings of Sahara, the town of Erfoud, you leave your vehicle and jump in a 4×4 with another driver. The drive, mostly off-road, to the camp is about one hour. In fact it’s glamping. Dinner, entertainment and overnight. Star gaze is something not miss.
And camel ride is included too.

Day 8Ready for Sahara exploring

After breakfast be ready for Sahara exploring. Your 4×4 will take you for a trip in the middle of nowhere. You will see old sahara villages scattered here and there in the desert. You will have tea at a nomads’ tent. You will stroll in a green oasis, palmgrove, in sahara. A picnic lunch is included. Then drive back home, where you can sandboard or ride an ATV ( single seater). At the sunset camel ride is also possible. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9Take you back to Erfoud

After breakfast the 4×4 will take you back to Erfoud to meet your tour driver. There you will visit a fossil treatment workshop. Millions of years ago the ocean was in what’s now sahara. There’re fossil quaries from which they take huge fossilised rocks and stones to the workshop. They also find the old species which lived in the ocean then. Trilobites, Orthoceras, Cephalopdes, Jellyfish and others.

After that you continue your drive to the sahara town Skoura. On the way stop at Tinghir, famous for its Kasbah villages, oasis and the gorge of Todra. Enjoy a nice walk in the gorge between two 900-meter-high hills. High atlas mountains. On the way home you will take the road of one thousand kasbahs and the valley of roses. On May you could see boys selling rose petal necklaces on the sides of the road.
Dinner and overnight at Skoura.

Day 10Visit kasbah Ameridil

After breakfast leave for your destination today. Marrakesh. But before that you will visit kasbah Ameridil. One of the ancients in that palmgrove. Then continue to Ouarzazate, where you will visit a movie studio. This city is known as the Hollywood of Africa. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, to have a walk in the ancient village, classified as a Unesco World Heritage site. You will see the Colossium of the movie Gladiator, 1999.Now they’re busy preparing for Gladiator 2. In the afternoon continue to Marrakesh. Dinner and overnight.

Day 11Thaousand-year-old city

Today is Marrakesh. This one-thaousand-year-old city was the capital center of Morocco and Andalucia. Its remparts are 12 km long, pierced with 19 gates. They used to be shut down at sunset. For security. But not now anymore.

Start by enjoying the beauty of Majorelle garden and museum. This was created by the French artist Jacques Majorelle on 1923. It’s now a property of Yves Saint Laurent foundation. Continue by exploring Menara garden and Pavillon, 12th century. Then go to the medina to stroll and have a drink in the Secret garden.

Follow then your tour by exploring the city’s fabled, labyrinthine souks, their bustling alleyways brimming with all manner of wares. Go back home after that for a rest. In the evening you will be taken to see the famous square, Jama ElFna, by night. Street performers, musicians and acrobats always perform there. You will have dinner in a restaurant nearby. After dinner head back home.

Day 12Exterior of Koutoubia mosque

Start your tour by seeing the exterior of Koutoubia mosque, 1147.Continue to the kasbah quarter to enjoy the architecture of the 16th century neckropolis Saadian tombs. Then walk to Badii palace, 1584.And finish your cultural tour by visiting the most beautiful palace in Morocco, Bahia. An exemplary specimen of privileged life in the 19th century. Go back home for rest, and get prepared for a nice foody tour in the late afternoon. The dinner will be various selections of Moroccan food. Then head back to the hotel, after dinner.

Day 13One-day-trip to Imlil

Today is a one-day-trip to Imlil, a Berber area. The drive is 1 hour. You meet there your mountain guide who’s taking you for a 2hour hike on high Atlas mountains. Then you will go in a Berber village to visit and have lunch in a Berber house with your Berber host. Berbers are the natives of Morocco. Some of them live on the mountains. They are farmers. They are very friendly people, who don’t mind hosting tourists in their villages and homes. After this nice experience you head back home. Balance of the day on own.

Day 14Participate in an amazing cooking class

Today is check-out. Before you leave Marralesh you will go where you will participate in an amazing cooking class. You will be taught how to make at least one sort of salad, and a chicken ( or other ) tagine. Your lunch will be the same food you have made yourself.

After lunch head to the coast. To Essouira. 3 hours drive. On the way you will see Morocco’s famous treasure. Argan trees. They grow only in this country.

Dinner and overnight in Essouira.

Day 15City of wind Essouira

Known as the city of wind Essouira is priviledged with a nice temperature. 25 degrees celcius all year round. It’s the Vatican of kyte serfers. You will have a half-day guided tour to explore the Skkala ( kasbah), the medina and the Jewish section. Essouira is also a place of good silver jewelery.

In the late afternoon you will enjoy a nice Moroccan hammam, steam bath ( spa ). Exfoliation. Body scrub. And massage. Relax. And relax.

After dinner walk back home.

Day 16Today is Casablanca

Today is Casablanca. Morocco’s business capital town and money center. 5 hours drive on highway.
There you will have a city tour, by car. Then a 1 hour-guided-tour inside the Hassan 2nd mosque. One of the most beautiful buildings all over the world, and the only mosque in Morocco non-muslims could visit. After the tour head to the hotel, to make yourselves ready for an unforgettable dinner at the famous Rick’s Cafè. The latter is mentioned in the 1942 famous movie, Casablanca. Go back home after dinner.

Day 17Departure

Departure. Your driver will take you to the airport, to meet the fast-track clerk for an easy check-in.
